Description

The Ground Safety Manager is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety systems across Ground Operations and Maintenance & Engineering.

This role ensures effective risk management, investigation of safety incidents, and compliance with national and international aviation safety regulations—while promoting a strong safety culture across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement safety processes, procedures, and assurance programs aligned with the Safety Management System (SMS).
• Oversee the implementation and effectiveness of SMS across Ground Operations and Maintenance & Engineering.
• Ensure all safety reports are properly risk assessed, with corrective and preventive actions defined and monitored.
• Conduct safety risk assessments, trend analysis, and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Lead investigations into ground safety incidents and accidents to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
• Review and approve investigation reports, including corrective actions and recommendations.
• Monitor safety performance through SPIs, SPTs, and safety objectives.
• Collaborate with operational departments to address safety issues and ensure timely resolution.
• Drive safety promotion initiatives such as campaigns, workshops, briefings, and bulletins.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and external stakeholders on safety-related matters.

Requirements

Education & Certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Aeronautical Science, or a related field.
• Mandatory: Safety Management System (SMS) Certification.
• Airmen certification (e.g., Aircraft Maintenance Engineer/Mechanic) is a strong advantage.

Experience

• Minimum 6 years of experience in the aviation industry.
• At least 2 years in a Safety role (Ground, Maintenance, or Engineering Safety).
